A “book box” for grade school children

There are two public libraries intended to serve 425,000 Ilonggos: The Iloilo City Public Library at the Iloilo City Hall building, and the Iloilo Provincial Library at the Iloilo Sports Complex. Both libraries, with their meager catalogue, cater mostly to adults. Sometimes, public high school students use them for research.

Meanwhile, preschool, primary, and elementary students have to make do with whatever materials they have at home or at school. Public schools, more often than not, do not have libraries.
